VILLAGE CLERK

The Office of the Village Clerk is a vital unit of local government that provides an essential link between citizens and their local governing body.  The Village Board appoints a Village Clerk as the custodian of official records and proceedings of the Village Board. Statutory duties include:
  • Maintaining the municipal code of ordinances
  • Conducting elections
  • Administering oaths of office
  • Issuing licenses  
  • Open record requests
  • Notary
Other duties the department performs include, but are not limited to:
  • Public notices regarding resolutions, ordinances, public hearings, and meeting agendas/minutes
  • Web site and newsletter creation and editing
  • Record retention

Dog Licensing
All dogs must be licensed after the age of five months.  To download a copy of the Dog Registration Form, please click HERE.
To license your dog, please provide the following:
  • Proof of rabies vaccination
  • Proof of spay or neuter.   
Fee:  $8 - spayed/neutered / $15 unaltered   
      
The license period is yearly from January 1st - December 31.  Licenses may be obtained beginning mid-December and no later than March 31.  After March 31, a $25 per dog late fee will be assessed.

If you are renewing your dog license when paying your property tax bill, please write a separate check for the dog license and include the items listed above.

Operator/Bartender License
Please complete the Operator License Application and return to the Clerk's Office with payment.  A photo ID and completion of Wisconsin Responsible Beverage Training are required when submitting an application.  Please contact the Clerk's Office with any questions.

Liquor/Malt Beverage License
**NEW in 2024**  Impacts of 2023 Wisconsin Act 73 include changes to requirements for retail licenses issued by municipalities.  Nearly all alcohol beverage licensing and permitting forms prepared by the department were updated:

Cigarette License
Wisconsin law made significant changes to municipal licensing and regulation of cigarette, tobacco and vapor products, including:
  • Requiring retailers that sell electronic vaping devices to obtain a retail license from their municipality
  • Creating minimum standards for persons to hold a municipality issued retail license
  • Requiring municipalities to use a retail license application form created by DOR
